A Cremation or Burial without Ceremony, known as a direct cremation or unattended burial, is for those who would prefer a simpler funeral. It is different to a traditional funeral as there is no funeral service.

It is for those, who for various reasons, prefer not to have a funeral service.  This option of a simple, straightforward cremation or burial  is now being chosen by a growing number of people.

Arranging a cremation or burial without a ceremony is straightforward and we will be pleased to help every step of the way.

We will arrange to bring your loved one into our care. There will be necessary forms that will need to be completed and signed.  We will then proceed with finalising the arrangements with the crematorium/church/cemetery.

(for cremation this will include the agreement and an application 1 for cremation). 

The fees for direct cremation are less than if using the crematorium for a full service or committal.

Please be aware that whatever type of funeral we carry out, we use our standard coffin and necessary staff to take the coffin into the crematorium chapel or graveside.

By opting for Direct Cremation, no mourners or ministers are permitted to attend and there is no provision for the playing of music. After the cremation, ashes can of course be returned to you if you wish, to be placed or kept wherever you chose.

With burial, if in a churchyard a Minister will be required to give a Christian Committal, however like cremation, no mourners or music would be permitted to attend.
